The Nexten conference will be held at Washington University’s new Neuroscience Research Building. This facility opened in 2023 and around 100 labs have moved into the state-of-the-art space. The building is connected to WashU’s medical campus and is centrally located in the beautiful Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis. Travel

Plane

Lambert International Airport (STL) is 15 miles from downtown St. Louis and the Washington University medical campus, where the Nexten Conference will be held. It’s about a 20-minute drive; taxis and ride-share companies including Uber and Lyft service the airport.

St. Louis’s local rail system, Metrolink, travels to and from the airport and stops in central locations in the city. It is a 25-minute trip from the airport to the Cortex stop, which is nearest the conference center. The ride costs $2.50.

Train

Amtrak stops at the Gateway Station in downtown St. Louis. It is then a 7-minute ride on the Metrolink rail from the nearby Civic Center stop to Cortex, which is nearest the conference center, or a 10-minute ride by car.

Parking

The Neuroscience Research Building has a large parking garage onsite for $2/hour.

Visiting the Gateway City

St. Louis has a lot to offer in a small city, and much of it is within short distance of the Nexten conference. The neighborhoods of the Central West End and Midtown–both walkable or short car rides from the WashU medical campus–offer world-class dining, from casual taquerias to upscale restaurants.
